Missing

Life continued, and we eventually got used to what I would call the normalcy. The fact that there was never any money, the calls from the creditors. Didn't really discuss with anyone about them.
Then it started to seem like dad would go try and find something that he knew he had and it would be missing, tools, a rare coin collection, one gun he won in a skeet shoot competition that he was super proud of, another that my mother had given him, a gold nugget ring and many more items not listed. A lot of the items that went missing were out in a storage shed or shop, things that were not used on a everyday basis. Other family members had stories of items missing like the time there was visit with two of my uncles, their wives along with dad and Rhoda. My uncles wife at the time had a wedding ring she took off and left in the bathroom and it mysteriously disappeared. There even were a few of our things that were no longer there and when we asked about them, there was always a reason, or always an excuse. One thing I remember just as an example was my Sega Genesis. I was told that it was borrowed and broken by the borrower. Didn't seem too out of the ordinary for me, could have actually happened right? We also had other things happen that I guess we should have opened our eyes a little sooner, but we were young and we always just assumed that dad knew. Like in particular this one day Crystal was borrowing dads computer when the rental company came to pick it up due to non payment. They verified the serial number and took the computer away. Dad was upset, he swore that they owned the computer and never rented one. Crystal and I eventually moved out of the green trailer house after buying a house, it kind of helped us get away from some of the stuff that was going on, we weren't as in the loop as we used to be.
During all of this dad was constantly getting sick, bumps all over his body that couldn't be explained, he also constantly said he didn't feel good. Every time you turned around he was going back to the doctor. Multiple doctors visits and they would do what doctors do, prescribe a medication for the symptom and monitor. With as often as he was getting sick, something was not right. We found out later that our aunt had accused Rhoda of poisoning dad. It kind of became a running joke in the family, but could it be true? I don't know. She did have full control of his food and medicine. Rhoda explained the bumps all over his body were due to laundry detergent being changed by his work where they washed his uniform. Miraculously after the accusation, they went away, well for the time being. We do want to mention that we have no proof of actual poisoning, just want everything to come to light. Was it the laundry detergent, we will never know.
We've been wrong before!
